Just like the private half-day, but with twice the time so we can get much more making done. People often use this class to make one of my classic projects, like the stool in this picture, to get a mix of information in the morning and a simple project like the swing-lid box in the afternoon, or to set off on a project of their own devising, so there are plentiful opportunities here.
If you have an idea for something you'd like to make, this is a great way to tackle it with all the equipment and guidance you might need on hand. You don't have to have a grand plan to get the most out of the session - I'll help help you to resolve the design so you get a successful result within the scope of the time we have. My workshop is now in a picturesque old market town on the edge of the breathtaking North York Moors National Park, halfway between the historic city of York and the coast. It's an ideal location if you want to combine a woodworking class with stunning scenery, fantastic walks, local food and a general holiday vibe.
I moved here in 2023 to be closer to family, after over a decade of making furniture and teaching woodworking classes for adults at my workshop in north London. My new space has the same feel – it's a real, professional woodworking workshop where I make my own furniture and commissions. You'll be using the same professional machinery and tools, in an environment full of my own random woodworking curiosities and plenty of sawdust.
