Dark oak table for high end art gallery

Ive recently just made and delivered a beautiful oak table to a gallery near Saville Row. It had a fine brass-brushed texture and a rich deep colour that involved making a custom stain. Im awaiting pictures of it in its final position from the gallery.

Im currently spending all the hours I can fitting out the interior of my boat, The Nautilus. I have to say that it is unbelievably hot in the cabin at the moment though as I havent installed any insualtion yet! Its nice to be able to go for a relaxing canoe and cool off though so I shan't complain. I have a 1 tonne stack of high grade birch plywood in the workshop which im enjoying fashioning into the cabin sole (floor), bulkheads and ceiling.

New Bench at Spitalfields farm

I spent last week in the freezing cold weather installing a large circular bench at Spitalfields city farm. It sits in a trench dug into the ground, which was hard going given that it was frozen solid. You can see a picture of it in the furniture section on this site. Its made almost entirely from reused timber from the farm or timber that I have rescued. It was commisioned as a memorial to the manager, Mhairis mother and features an inscription.

What a busy few months!

At the end of June I designed and made three large free standing display frames for Capital Growth. These were used at their showcase event in City Hall on the South bank.

Castle garden

Ive been spending lots of time in the gardens of the Castle Climbing Centre in Green Lanes N4. If you visit you might see a scattering of rustic screens and frames for plants to grow up which Ive been making. You might also see lots of woodshavings where Ive been spending time teaching people how to carve green wood on the various work days we have held so far.

New leaflet display system

I have designed and made a new leaflet display system at Hackney city farm in the main cafe area, why not go and have a look? The cafe make excellent chocolate brownies too!

Mudchute table finished!

The new meeting table for Mudchute city farm was completed yesterday by a team of community service attendees led by myself. We finished it with eco-friendly 'osmo' oil which brought the grain to life with great clarity.

First Mudchute table project is nearly finished

I have been working with community service attendees at the farm to make a large English Oak meeting table. Next week we are going to attach the legs and oil it, which is very exciting!
